This summer brings sunscreens with advanced formulations, delightful textures and, most importantly, powerful filters to our vanity. The latest scientific development is the combination of organic (chemical) and inorganic (mineral) filters to maximize protection, as chemist Eva Tsantis, cosmetology researcher and creator of Aenaon° cosmetics, explains. "Sunscreen should be broad-spectrum, meaning it should protect against both UVA and UVB. That's why we combine inorganic filters (zinc oxide & titanium dioxide) with organic ones. [...] Cosmetology now designs sunscreens as complete tools that protect not only from the changes caused by UV rays, but also from other problems such as wrinkles, oiliness, dehydration and discoloration.
